  7. What it does

WCCacheCleaner deletes the cache files and cache log in your Netscape Navigatorｪ cache folder.  Netscape Navigatorｪ will create a new cache log when it is launched the next time and of course cache files will begin to accumulate in the usual way. You also have the options to have WCCacheCleaner delete your Global History and MagicCookie files.

NEW FEATURES   Version 1.8 now has the ability to tell Netscape Navigatorｪ/Communicatorｪ to Quit. With this option enabled you can now shutdown your Mac without needing to Quit Navigatorｪ/Communicatorｪ manually before running WCCacheCleaner. This is handy if WCCacheCleaner (or an alias to it) is in your Shutdown Items folder.

  14. WCCacheCleaner is now compatible with Navigatorｪ/Communicatorｪ v4.5 which has renamed the Global History file to Netscape History.

  19. What it doesn't do

  21. WCCacheCleaner does not clean your cache folder while Netscape Navigatorｪ/Communicatorｪ is running. However, you can now choose to have WCCacheCleaner shutdown Navigatorｪ/Communicatorｪ.

  23.  NOTE:   If you use web sites that store log-in information in your Magic Cookie file we recommend that you NOT use the Cookie Cleaner option of WCCacheCleaner.

  25. WCCacheCleaner does not allow you to interact with it.  It just does its thing and then quits.

  32. If you have not purchased a license for, and registered WCCacheCleaner you will find that you are running a full functioning demo.

  34. To configure WCCacheCleaner, run the WCUtility program and select WCCacheCleaner from the Configure menu.

  36. If you are using System 7.5 or greater it is easiest to drop WCCacheCleaner (or better yet, an alias of it) into your shut-down folder.  All of the cleaning will be done upon shut-down.

  38. If your operating system is pre-system 7.5 it is easiest to put WCCacheCleaner (or better yet, an alias of it) in your start-up folder.

  40. To configure WCCacheCleaner, select WCCacheCleaner from the Configure Menu in the WCUtility program.

  45. Note: WCCacheCleaner should be run at least one time before registering.

  47. WCCacheCleaner will run 15 times, after which it must be registered.  The registration key can be obtained by purchasing a license.

  49. Registering WCCacheCleaner is a three step process.
  50.  
  51. 1.  Run the application named REGISTER to fill out your order form.
  52.  
  53. 2.  Snail mail or email your order form and payment.
  54.  
  55. 3.  Run the application named WCUtility and enter the number (registration key) that we send you.
  56.                     Note:  WCCacheCleaner has no user interface therefore WCUtility is used to enter your code.

  60. Using the REGISTER application:

  62. 1.  Run the Register program that was included in the WCCacheCleaner folder.
  63.                     If you do not have it, you can download it from our web site.

  65. 2.  Fill out the order form.

  67. 3.  If you are registering by snail mail, print the order and mail to:

  78. Your registration number (registration key) will be emailed to you and you can then use the WCUtility program to permanently activate your copy of WCCacheCleaner.
